Fall Fertilizer Application

On yesterday’s program we heard from Mark Cutts, crop specialist at the Ag-Info Centre, about the advantages of applying fertilizer in the fall. Today, Cutts takes a look at the specifics of fall fertilizer application, starting with which nutrients are typically applied at this time of year.

The bottom line, says Cutts, is that fall applications can provide an economic benefit and make spring seeding more efficient. But he says in order to gain these benefits, producers need to consider the type of fertilizer product being applied, timing of the application, and the amounts to be applied.
