Farm Credit Canada, the country’s leading agriculture lender, says it is willing to help drought-stricken farmers deal with the financial implications caused by ongoing dry conditions. As the Regina Leader-Post reports, FCC says it will allow for the deferral of loansto farmers in parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta because of the lack of rainfall. FCC is asking affected customers in Alberta and Saskatchewan to call their FCC relationship manager or the FCC customer service centre at 1-888-332-3301 to discuss their individual situations and options. J.P. Gervais @jpgervais chief economist, Farm Credit Canada says they’re reaching out to assess farmers’ situations as it pertains to their crops, hay, and pasture.
