Manitoba Beef Producers (MBP) is pleased with the May 18 World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling that signals an end to the long and costly legal fight against the United States’ Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) law. The WTO’s Appellate Body upheld a previous ruling that COOL discriminates against live imports of Canadian cattle and is in violation of global trade laws.
