New Livestock Research Webpage

Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development’s (ARD) livestock research branch has launched its own website.
“Ever wondered if you can feed faba beans to pigs?” asks Miranda Smit, technical writer and co-developer of the website, ARD. “Or camelina meal to poultry? Interested in using synchronization protocols to improve your dairy herd’s reproductive performance? Or want to know more about genomics in beef production?”

The answers to these and many other questions can be found at the new website, says Smit. “It’s a portal to information from each research group within the livestock research branch, those being poultry, beef, dairy, aquaculture, animal welfare, monogastric feed and feed quality.”

Each research group has its own page with information on who they are, projects they’re working on, presentations, published results, factsheets, and other interesting information, says Smit. “If you’ve seen a presentation by a member of the livestock research branch and would like to have a look at the PowerPoint presentation or poster later, there’s a good chance you’ll find it on the website. It’s really convenient.”
