USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 303,700 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were down 58 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (109,600 MT), Mexico (63,600 MT, including 11,100 MT switched from Chile), Japan (50,300 MT), South Korea (38,600 MT), and the United Arab Emirates (25,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for Costa Rica (11,400 MT) and Chile (11,100 MT).  Net sales of 22,000 MT for 2016/2017 for Japan (22,000 MT) and unknown destinations (5,200 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Costa Rica (5,200 MT).  Exports of 258,600 MT were down 26 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (79,400 MT), Taiwan (56,200 MT), Japan (43,400 MT), Brazil (25,000 MT), the Philippines (15,500 MT), and the Dominican Republic (15,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to Italy totaling 3,300 MT were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 51,400 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 2,036,300 MT for 2015/2016--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (1,112,100 MT), unknown destinations (269,100 MT), Japan (196,700 MT, including 94,800 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 800 MT), Colombia (88,600 MT, including 47,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 16,000 MT), Peru (79,300 MT), and South Korea (73,200 MT).  Net sales of 528,500 MT for 2016/2017  for Mexico (487,700 MT) and Japan (58,900 MT), were partially offset by reductions for Panama (13,500 MT) and Nicaragua (4,600 MT).  Exports of 531,700 MT were up 37 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (281,400 MT), Colombia (116,700 MT), Japan (110,300 MT), Taiwan (15,200 MT), and Jamaica (4,700 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 395,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Barley:  There were no sales reported during the week.  Exports of 100 MT were reported to South Korea.

Sorghum: Net sales of 141,800 MT for 2015/2016 were down 65 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (130,200 MT, including 49,400 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 4,000 MT) and Mexico (11,600 MT).  Exports of 163,200 MT were down 40 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (160,700 MT) and Mexico (2,500 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 33,700 MT for 2015/2016 were down 23 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (13,700 MT), Costa Rica (7,200 MT), Haiti (5,000 MT), Honduras (3,600 MT, including 2,600 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Canada (3,100 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (2,600 MT).  Exports of 27,900 MT, down 75 percent from the previous week and 58 percent from the prior 4-week average, were reported to Japan (12,300 MT), Mexico (3,900 MT), Honduras (3,500 MT), Canada (3,200 MT), and South Korea (1,500 MT). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current outstanding balance is 600 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,173,600 MT for 2015/2016 were down 35 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (751,700 MT, including 512,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 15,000 MT), the Netherlands (141,500 MT, including 140,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,500 MT), Japan (76,200 MT, including 47,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 300 MT), Turkey (67,800 MT), Taiwan (63,100 MT), and Spain (61,100 MT, switched from China).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (255,100 MT) and Russia (1,700 MT).  Net sales of 5,000 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 1,912,600 MT were down 16 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (1,297,400 MT), the Netherlands (141,500 MT), Taiwan (73,600 MT), Spain (61,100 MT), and South Korea (57,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 295,000 MT and are for China (175,000 MT), Pakistan (60,000 MT), and unknown destinations (60,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  The current outstanding balance is 54,100 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 254,900 MT for 2015/2016 were up 14 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (103,300 MT), unknown destinations (23,600 MT), Panama (21,200 MT), Ireland (20,000 MT), and Colombia (16,200 MT).  Reductions were reported for Spain (3,900 MT) and Cuba (500 MT).  Net sales reductions of 7,100 MT for 2016/2017 resulted as increases for Mexico (2,500 MT), were more than offset by reductions for Panama (7,300 MT) and Nicaragua (2,300 MT).  Exports of 174,200 MT were down 16 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily to Mexico (62,600 MT), Spain (41,100 MT), the Dominican Republic (38,700 MT), Canada (11,300 MT), and Cuba (6,300 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, outstanding optional origin sales total 99,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 12,800 MT for 2015/2016 resulted as increases for Peru (20,700 MT), the Dominican Republic (3,100 MT), Mexico (2,700 MT), Saudi Arabia (1,500 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Canada (100 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (15,500 MT).  Exports of 5,100 MT were down 90 percent from the previous week and 80 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily to Mexico (4,700 MT), Canada (200 MT), and Trinidad (100 MT).

Cotton:   Net upland sales totaling 267,600 RB for 2015/2016--a marketing-year high--were up 38 percent from the previous week and 96 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (92,100 RB), Turkey (85,300 RB), Thailand (25,500 RB, including 400 RB switched from Japan), Ecuador (14,000 RB), and Costa Rica (12,700 RB).  Reductions were reported for Malaysia (23,100 RB) and El Salvador (400 RB).  Net sales of 38,000 RB for 2016/2017 were reported for Vietnam (16,300 RB), Malaysia (13,200 RB), Costa Rica (4,000 RB), Taiwan (2,600 RB), and Japan (1,900 RB).  Exports of 90,800 RB were up 69 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (18,700 RB), Vietnam (8,900 RB), Turkey (8,800 RB), China (7,600 RB), and Indonesia (7,300 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 7,500 RB for 2015/2016 were down 53 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (4,200 RB, including 100 RB switched from Indonesia), India (1,700 RB, including 400 RB switched from Indonesia), Turkey (1,000 RB), Bangladesh (400 RB), and Pakistan (400 RB).  Reductions were reported for Indonesia (300 RB).  Exports of 8,800 RB were up 21 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (4,800 RB), Pakistan (1,000 RB), India (800 RB), Indonesia (500 RB), and Peru (400 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 1,700 RB were reported to Vietnam.  Exports totaling 2,000 RB to China were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance is 12,900 RB, and is for China (7,300 RB) and Vietnam (5,600 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 421,500 pieces for 2015, all whole cattle hides, were up 12 percent from the previous week, but down 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were for China (224,200 pieces), South Korea (105,200 pieces), Mexico (43,500 pieces), Thailand (20,100 pieces), and Japan (10,300 pieces).  Exports of 460,000 pieces were up 50 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 456,000 pieces were primarily to China (317,300 pieces), South Korea (75,700 pieces), Mexico (28,800 pieces), Taiwan (9,900 pieces), and Thailand (6,600 pieces). 

Net sales of 153,000 wet blues for 2015 were down 7 percent from the previous week and 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (59,900 unsplit and 13,200 grain splits), Vietnam (69,200 unsplit), Taiwan (13,600 unsplit), and Mexico (10,700 unsplit).  Reductions were reported for Thailand (22,000 grain splits) and Vietnam (8,400 grain splits).  For 2016, net sales of 62,300 wet blues reported for China (19,700 grain splits and 6,500 unsplit), Thailand (22,000 grain splits), Italy (9,600 unsplit), Vietnam (8,400 grain splits), and Mexico (1,900 grain splits), were partially offset by reductions for Hong Kong (3,500 grain splits), Argentina (2,000 grain splits), and Taiwan (200 unsplit).  Exports of 171,300 wet blues were up 7 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (69,300 unsplit and 15,600 grain splits), Vietnam (25,700 unsplit), Mexico (19,700 grain splits and 4,100 unsplit), Italy (13,500 unsplit), and Taiwan (5,600 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 805,200 pounds for 2015 were for Vietnam (938,800 pounds) and Hong Kong (50,000 pounds).  Reductions were reported for China (183,600 pounds).  Exports of 462,500 pounds were down 1 percent from the previous week and 56 percent and from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Vietnam (409,500 pounds), Hong Kong (50,000 pounds), and South Korea (3,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 10,200 MT for 2015 were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 74 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (3,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,500 MT), Mexico (1,100 MT), Japan (800 MT), and Canada (800 MT).  Net sales reductions of 1,700 MT for 2016 resulted as increases for South Korea (400 MT) and Chile (100 MT), were more than offset by reductions for Hong Kong (2,200 MT) and Taiwan (100 MT).  Exports of 12,300 MT were up 1 percent from the previous week, but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Hong Kong (2,900 MT), Japan (2,700 MT), South Korea (2,300 MT), Mexico (1,600 MT), and Canada (1,200 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 9,000 MT for 2015 were down 57 percent from the previous week and 45 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (3,100 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), Hong Kong (700 MT), and Australia (600 MT).  Net sales of 1,600 MT for 2016 were reported for China (1,400 MT) and South Korea (200 MT).  Exports of 20,000 MT were up 6 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,400 MT), Japan (4,200 MT), South Korea (2,800 MT), Canada (1,900 MT), and China (1,200 MT).
