USDA Export sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 544,400 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were up 19 percent from the previous week and 74 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (122,300 MT), the Philippines (95,500 MT), Thailand (60,000 MT), Mexico (58,200 MT), Nigeria (55,100 MT), and Japan (29,800 MT).  Net sales of 21,000 MT for 2015/2016 were for unknown destinations (20,000 MT) and Colombia (1,000 MT).  Exports of 340,500 MT were up 22 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (90,300 MT), Mexico (56,400 MT), the Philippines (49,800 MT), Guatemala (40,300 MT), and Nigeria (33,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Decreases in exports for own account totaling 100 MT were reported for Italy.  The current exports for own account balance is 59,800 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 1,068,200 MT for 2014/2015 were down 51 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Japan (440,100 MT, including 228,200 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 11,600 MT), Mexico (221,700 MT), South Korea (181,100 MT), Egypt (60,000 MT), Venezuela (38,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Morocco (33,000 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Nicaragua (21,300 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (37,900 MT).  Net sales of 16,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Canada (10,000 MT) and Nicaragua (6,000 MT).  Exports of 942,600 MT were up 24 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (549,800 MT), Mexico (210,000 MT), Venezuela (58,000 MT), Morocco (33,000 MT), and Colombia (31,900 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 68,000 MT, all South Korea.

Barley:  There were no net sales reported during the week.  Exports of 100 MT were reported for Taiwan.  

Sorghum: Net sales of 231,900 MT for 2014/2015 were down 25 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were for China (210,900 MT, including 116,000 MT switched unknown destinations and decreases of 13,400 MT), unknown destinations (20,000 MT), and Japan (1,000 MT).  Exports of 300,700 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (289,500 MT) and Japan (11,200 MT).  

Rice:  Net sales of 32,600 MT for 2014/2015 were down 67 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Colombia (33,200 MT), Haiti (18,600 MT), Jordan (6,200 MT), Canada (4,900 MT), and South Korea (1,400 MT).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (35,600 MT).  Exports of 74,300 MT were down 50 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (33,900 MT), Haiti (14,200 MT), Japan (12,100 MT), Colombia (7,200 MT), and Canada (3,000 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 888,200 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (548,900 MT, including 126,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 32,500 MT), Germany (144,300 MT), the Netherlands (119,700 MT, including 140,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 20,300 MT), Mexico (68,400 MT), Portugal (65,900 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Egypt (65,400 MT), and Japan (44,100 MT, including 32,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (232,700 MT) and Turkey (6,200 MT).  Net sales of 20,800 MT for 2015/2016 were for Japan.  Exports of 1,629,600 MT were unchanged from the previous week, but up 9 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (759,100 MT), Germany (144,300 MT), the Netherlands (129,300 MT), Japan (111,400 MT), Mexico (104,900 MT), Saudi Arabia (67,200 MT), Portugal (65,900 MT), and Egypt (65,400 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 876,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 1,900 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 68,350 MT for week ending January 1, 2015, and down 75,937 MT for week ending January 8, 2015.  The correct destination for these shipments is Germany and is included in this week’s report.  

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 296,500 MT for 2014/2015 were up 4 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Ecuador (99,000 MT), Thailand (45,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (41,700 MT), Egypt (30,000 MT), Colombia (24,900 MT, including 4,600 MT switched from Panama), and the United Kingdom (24,400 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 600 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (29,100 MT), Turkey (15,000 MT), Indonesia (9,000 MT), and the Dominican Republic (1,900 MT).  Net sales of 1,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico (600 MT) and Nicaragua (400 MT).  Exports of 276,400 MT were down 9 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (51,100 MT), Mexico (46,700 MT), the Philippines (43,000 MT), the United Kingdom (24,400 MT), Cuba (23,100 MT), Colombia (12,700 MT), and Venezuela (12,000 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 10,600 MT for 2014/2015 were down 38 percent from the previous week and 58 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Peru (5,000 MT), Mexico (4,300 MT), Honduras (1,000 MT), and Canada (200 MT).  Exports of 8,200 MT were down 81 percent from the previous week and 70 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Peru (5,100 MT) and Mexico (2,900 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 546,200 RB for 2014/2015--a marketing-year high--were up 16 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (177,700 RB, including 2,600 RB switched from South Korea and decreases of 7,800 RB), Vietnam (174,800 RB), Indonesia (96,500 RB), Turkey (35,300 RB), and Mexico (17,800 RB).  Net sales of 12,600 RB for 2015/2016 were reported primarily for Thailand (6,600 RB) and Mexico (3,500 RB).  Exports of 274,800 RB--a marketing-year high--were up 22 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (54,600 RB), Turkey (43,300 RB), Vietnam (38,500 RB), Indonesia (36,200 RB), and Mexico (23,100 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 13,100 RB for 2014/2015 were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for Pakistan (11,600 RB), Peru (400 RB), Bangladesh (400 RB), and Thailand (400 RB).  Decreases were reported for China (400 RB) and Germany (100 RB).  Exports of 8,600 RB--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (5,200 RB), Switzerland (1,700 RB), India (500 RB), and Germany (400 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 200 RB were reported to China.  Export for own account totaling 3,800 RB to China were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 48,900 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 473,100 pieces were reported for 2015, including whole cattle hide sales of 451,200 pieces.  The whole cattle hide sales were primarily for China (340,100 pieces), South Korea (111,400 pieces), Mexico (11,000 pieces), and Taiwan (5,200 pieces).   Decreases were reported for the Netherlands (25,700 pieces).  Exports of 323,200 pieces were reported, including whole cattle hide exports of 318,000 pieces.  The primary destinations for the whole cattle hide exports were China (187,000 pieces), South Korea (89,200 pieces), Thailand (16,300 pieces), Mexico (11,500 pieces), and Taiwan (4,100 pieces).

Net sales of 96,100 wet blues for 2015 were reported for China (33,400 unsplit and 3,900 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (20,500 unsplit), Thailand (20,100 unsplit), and Mexico (13,700 grain splits and 1,200 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for South Korea (3,400 grain splits).   Exports of 163,300 wet blues were primarily to China (40,500 unsplit and 12,300 grain splits), Italy (34,400 unsplit and 3,800 grain splits), Vietnam (21,100 unsplit and 3,800 grain splits), and Mexico (10,700 grain splits and 2,100 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 781,100 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea (562,300 pounds), China (118,800 pounds), and Taiwan (100,000 pounds).  Exports of 569,100 pounds were reported to South Korea (450,300 pounds) and China (118,800 MT).

Beef:  Net sales of 10,000 MT for 2015 were reported for Japan (3,500 MT), South Korea (2,900 MT), Mexico (2,600 MT), Canada (900 MT), and Taiwan (600 MT).  Exports of 10,900 MT were reported to Japan (3,000 MT), South Korea (2,300 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT), Hong Kong (1,500 MT), and Canada (1,200 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 16,900 MT for 2015 were reported for Mexico (7,000 MT), South Korea (3,200 MT), Colombia (1,900 MT), Japan (1,000 MT), and Australia (900 MT).  Exports of 17,800 MT were reported to Mexico (6,100 MT), South Korea (3,300 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), and Hong Kong (800 MT).
