USDA Export sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 102,300 metric tons for delivery in 2014/2015--a marketing-year low--were down 74 percent from the previous week and 75 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Ecuador (45,700 MT), China (35,000 MT, switched from the Philippines), Brazil (25,300 MT, including 20,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (23,200 MT, including 5,100 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,900 MT), the Philippines (16,000 MT), and Mexico (11,400 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (75,100 MT), Colombia (12,500 MT), and the French West Indies (7,000 MT).  Net sales of 79,400 MT for 2015/2016 were for Mexico (28,000 MT), the Philippines (25,000 MT), unknown destinations (20,300 MT), and El Salvador (8,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Colombia (1,900 MT).  Exports of 498,100 MT were up 2 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Nigeria (117,600 MT), Brazil (58,300 MT), Thailand (57,100 MT), South Korea (56,100 MT), and the Philippines (51,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 38,100 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 435,000 MT for 2014/2015 were down 13 percent from the previous week and 29 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (191,800 MT, including 122,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 88,100 MT), Mexico (92,300 MT, including 23,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 16,200 MT), Taiwan (87,200 MT, including 63,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (60,800 MT), and Saudi Arabia (54,100 MT, including 47,600 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (336,000 MT).  Net sales of 29,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Panama (16,900 MT), Mexico (10,700 MT), and Japan (1,400 MT).  Exports of 1,065,900 MT were up 54 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (310,500 MT), Mexico (295,700 MT, including 30,900 MT late reporting), Taiwan (80,000 MT), Colombia (68,900 MT), South Korea (67,900 MT), Saudi Arabia (54,100 MT), and Indonesia (32,600 MT, including 21,000 MT late reporting).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 68,000 MT, all South Korea.

Barley: Net sales of 500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Taiwan.  Net sales of 100 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Taiwan.  Exports of 1,300 MT were reported to Taiwan.

Sorghum: Net sales of 58,900 MT for 2014/2015 were reported mainly for China.  Net sales of 228,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for unknown destinations.  Exports of 287,600 MT were unchanged from the previous week, but up 31 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destination was China.  

Rice:  Net sales of 108,400 MT for 2014/2015 were up 42 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Colombia (63,300 MT), Haiti (14,700 MT), Japan (13,100 MT), Honduras (5,700 MT), and South Korea (5,500 MT).  Exports of 81,400 MT were up 95 percent from the previous week and 47 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (27,700 MT), Haiti (24,600 MT), Colombia (17,300 MT), Honduras (4,900 MT), and Canada (2,300 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 100 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales of 505,800 MT for 2014/2015 were up 48 percent from the previous week and 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Indonesia (133,200 MT, including 112,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (128,700 MT), Germany (102,400 MT, previously reported as the Netherlands), the Netherlands (56,800 MT, including 70,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 13,200 MT), and Japan (48,300 MT, including 29,500 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (22,500 MT).  Net sales of 220,200 MT for 2015/2016 were for unknown destinations (128,000 MT), Mexico (90,000 MT), Japan (1,200 MT), and Taiwan (1,000 MT).  Exports of 760,700 MT were up 19 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (189,500 MT, including 57,700 MT late reporting), Indonesia (156,200 MT, including 52,300 MT late reporting), Mexico (136,100 MT), Germany (102,400 MT, previously reported as the Netherlands), the Netherlands (63,400 MT), and Japan (36,500 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 656,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 1,900 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to the Netherlands were adjusted down 69,996 MT for week ending February 19th and 32,422 MT for week ending March 5th.  The correct destination for these shipments is Germany and is reported in this week’s report.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 224,300 MT for 2014/2015 were up 10 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (39,800 MT), Ecuador (33,000 MT), Canada (31,800 MT), Venezuela (25,000 MT), Panama (22,300 MT), and Colombia (18,900 MT, including 1,200 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (20,100 MT) and Vietnam (200 MT).  Net sales of 3,900 MT for 2015/2016 were reported primarily for Mexico (1,900 MT) and Nicaragua (1,000 MT).  Exports of 304,000 MT were up 38 percent from the previous week and 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Thailand (112,500 MT), the Philippines (47,200 MT), Cuba (23,100 MT), Mexico (21,800 MT), Canada (14,000 MT), Honduras (10,400 MT), and Colombia (10,300 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 22,400 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Morocco (18,000 MT), the Dominican Republic (1,700 MT), Canada (1,300 MT), Mexico (900 MT), and Guatemala (400 MT).  Exports of 19,400 MT were up 12 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Guatemala (11,000 MT), Nicaragua (4,000 MT), Mexico (2,900 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 177,600 RB for 2014/2015 were down 26 percent from the previous week, but up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (76,700 RB, including 10,700 RB switched from Vietnam and decreases of 1,400 RB)Turkey (31,000 RB), Mexico (12,400 RB), South Korea (9,000 RB), Bangladesh (8,400 RB), and Taiwan (8,000 RB).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (1,100 RB).  Net sales of 21,000 RB for 2015/2016 were reported primarily for Turkey (5,400 RB), South Korea (5,300 RB), Mexico (4,900 RB), and Vietnam (4,400 RB).  Exports of 290,300 RB were down 2 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (86,100 RB), Vietnam (53,500 RB), Turkey (25,600 RB), Indonesia (23,400 RB), and South Korea (18,600 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 15,300 RB for 2014/2015--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (10,600 RB), Hong Kong (1,400 RB), Bangladesh (1,300 RB), and Egypt (1,300 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Germany (200 RB).  Exports of 12,500 RB were down 18 percent from the previous week, but up 59 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (7,300 RB), India (1,700 RB), Pakistan (1,600 RB), and Japan (600 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to China totaling 5,000 RB were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 42,400 RB, and is for China (40,600 RB) and Turkey (1,800 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 383,700 pieces reported for 2015 were up 11 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 364,200 pieces were primarily for China (235,700 pieces), South Korea (88,700 pieces), Taiwan (18,900 pieces), and Thailand (10,700 pieces).  Exports of 509,200 pieces (all whole cattle hides)--a marketing-year-high--were up 11 percent from the previous week and 54 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (353,600 pieces), South Korea (103,600 pieces), Taiwan (25,800 pieces), and Thailand (12,700 pieces).

Net sales of 90,800 wet blues for 2015 were reported for China (44,400 unsplit and 9,600 grain splits), Italy (23,700 unsplit), the Dominican Republic (7,200 unsplit), and Taiwan (4,900 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for Thailand (8,100 unsplit) and South Korea (5,000 unsplit).  Exports of 122,700 wet blues were primarily to Italy (24,000 unsplit and 5,400 grain splits), China (19,200 unsplit and 9,600 grain splits), Mexico (19,000 grain splits and 1,100 unsplits), and Vietnam (6,800 unsplit and 2,400 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totaling 278,300 pounds for 2015 resulted as increases for Italy (616,600 pounds), Hong Kong (150,000 pounds), and Taiwan (2,100 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for China (231,900 pounds), South Korea (219,400 pounds), and Vietnam (39,100 pounds).  Exports of 1,936,700 pounds--a marketing-year high--were reported to South Korea (820,000 pounds), Vietnam (606,100 pounds), Italy (207,700 pounds), China (202,900 pounds), and Hong Kong (100,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 13,100 MT for 2015 were up 13 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (6,200 MT), South Korea (2,100 MT), Hong Kong (1,400 MT), Taiwan (1,200 MT), and Mexico (1,000 MT).  Exports of 12,500 MT were up 3 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (4,700 MT), Hong Kong (2,400 MT), South Korea (1,700 MT), Mexico (1,400 MT), and Canada (800 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 19,600 MT for 2015 were down 7 percent from the previous week and 13 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (6,700 MT), Hong Kong (4,100 MT), Australia (1,800 MT), Japan (1,800 MT), and South Korea (1,300 MT).  Exports of 21,200 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 7 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,600 MT), South Korea (3,700 MT), Japan (3,400 MT), China (2,800 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT).
