USDA Export Sales Report Release

Wheat:   Net sales of 41,800 metric tons--a marketing-year low--for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year were down 88 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases for the Philippines (60,200 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (43,900 MT), Peru (40,400 MT, including 35,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 20,000 MT), Algeria (29,000 MT), Brazil (25,000 MT), Guatemala (21,900 MT, including 19,100 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Indonesia (21,500 MT, including 17,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,400 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (232,000 MT) and Vietnam (6,000 MT).  Net sales of 349,100 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for unknown destinations (241,400 MT), Guatemala (32,100 MT), El Salvador (27,700 MT), and Colombia (18,000 MT).  Exports of 553,600 MT were up 6 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Nigeria (98,700 MT), Peru (74,400 MT), Mexico (71,800 MT), Thailand (55,300 MT), the Philippines (42,500 MT), and Guatemala (34,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, options were exercised to export 29,000 MT to Algeria from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 68,000 MT, and are for Algeria (59,000 MT) and Italy (9,000 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account to Italy (12,400 MT) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 12,700 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 658,700 MT for 2013/2014 were down 31 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (253,000 MT, including 118,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 2,200 MT), Japan (171,600 MT, including 102,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 26,800 MT), Colombia (72,900 MT, including 54,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Israel (52,000 MT), Guatemala (48,600 MT, including 21,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Costa Rica (44,300 MT), and Egypt (39,500 MT, including 38,000 MT switched from China).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (83,400 MT), China (58,000 MT), and Brazil (35,000 MT).  Net sales of 58,000 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 1,217,400 MT were down 15 percent from the previous week, but up 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (365,400 MT), Mexico (250,200 MT), South Korea (177,900 MT), Colombia (96,700 MT), Taiwan (76,900 MT), and Venezuela (64,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 123,000 MT, all South Korea.

Barley: Net sales of 1,000 MT for 2013/2014 were reported for South Korea.  There were no exports reported during the week.

Sorghum: Net sales of 1,700 MT for 2013/2014 resulted as increases for Japan (9,400 MT switched from unknown destinations), China (1,400 MT), and Canada (300 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (9,400 MT).  Exports of 67,900 MT were reported to China (57,800 MT), Japan (9,400 MT), and Mexico (700 MT).

Rice: Net sales of 43,600 MT for 2013/2014 were down 46 percent from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Haiti (18,100 MT), Canada (6,700 MT), Honduras (5,600 MT), Mexico (4,800 MT), and Saudi Arabia (3,400 MT).  Exports of 43,400 MT were up 57 percent from the previous week, but down 49 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Guatemala (16,700 MT), Colombia (14,500 MT), Mexico (4,000 MT), Canada (3,000 MT), and Jordan (900 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 79,100 MT for 2013/2014 were up 20 percent from the previous week, but down 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases for Mexico (59,000 MT), South Korea (25,300 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Taiwan (21,300 MT), Japan (18,700 MT, including 13,300 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,500 MT), and Indonesia (18,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (114,600 MT).  Net sales of 210,400 MT for 2014/2015 were primarily for China (180,000 MT), Indonesia (15,000 MT), and Mexico (10,000 MT).  Exports of 700,400 MT were up 6 percent from the previous week, but down 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (325,900 MT), Japan (85,600 MT), Mexico (84,000 MT), Egypt (62,500 MT), Indonesia (50,700 MT), and South Korea (25,800 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:   For 2013/2014, options were exercised to export 56,500 MT to China from other than the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 110,500 MT, all China.  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 450,000 MT, and are for China (330,000 MT) and Egypt (120,000 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 179,600 MT for 2013/2014 were down 42 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (70,100 MT), the Philippines (43,000 MT), Guatemala (20,100 MT, including 7,300 MT switched from unknown destinations, 500 MT switched from El Salvador, and decreases of 800 MT), Canada (15,900 MT), Mexico (11,700 MT), and Thailand (5,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for Trinidad (16,200 MT).  Net sales of 80,100 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for unknown destinations (80,000 MT) and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 265,800 MT were down 32 percent from the previous week, but unchanged from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Thailand (60,900 MT), Mexico (49,600 MT), Vietnam (38,300 MT), Canada (24,500 MT), Venezuela (18,000 MT), and Guatemala (14,600 MT).  

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 3,400 MT for 2013/2014 were down 46 percent from the previous week and 31 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases for China (40,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (3,000 MT), and Israel (200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (40,000 MT) and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 52,900 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (40,000 MT), Mexico (5,500 MT), Jamaica (3,500 MT), the Dominican Republic (3,000 MT), and Canada (700 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales reductions of 10,900 RB--a marketing-year-low--resulted as increases for Turkey (28,600 RB), China (7,200 RB), Colombia (6,900 RB, including 14,500 RB switched from Mexico and decreases of 7,700 RB), South Korea (3,900 RB), Taiwan (3,800 RB), and Vietnam (3,700 RB, including 400 RB switched from Japan), were more than offset by decreases for Thailand (25,300 RB), Mexico (13,800 RB), Bangladesh (10,400 RB), and Indonesia (10,200 RB).  Net sales of 119,300 RB for 2014/2015 were primarily for Turkey (45,100 RB), Thailand (22,200 RB), Indonesia (17,100 RB), and Bangladesh (13,200 RB).  Exports of 303,900 RB were up 23 percent from the previous week and 11 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Turkey (83,000 RB), China (64,500 RB), Vietnam (32,200 RB), Thailand (21,900 RB), Indonesia (17,500 RB), and South Korea (14,700 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 700 RB for 2013/2014 were down 86 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for India (500 RB, including 300 RB switched from Indonesia), Japan (400 RB), and Thailand (100 RB, switched from Japan).   Net sales of 500 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for Germany.  Exports of 7,800 RB were primarily to China (4,400 RB), India (1,000 RB), Taiwan (900 RB), Peru (700 RB), and Japan (400 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, optional origin sales totaling 2,900 RB were reported for Thailand.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 18,100 RB, and are for Thailand (12,100 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), unknown destinations (1,100 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB).

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 66,400 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 450,400 pieces reported for 2014 were up 15 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 450,300 pieces were primarily for China (287,500 pieces), South Korea (64,100 pieces), Thailand (44,100 pieces), Taiwan (30,700 pieces), and Hong Kong (11,600 pieces).  Decreases were reported for the Netherlands (3,100 pieces).  Exports of 372,100 pieces were down 24 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports totaled 367,000 pieces, with the primary destinations being China (219,300 pieces), South Korea (89,000 pieces), Taiwan (21,200 pieces), Thailand (10,900 pieces), and Mexico (10,800 pieces).

Net sales of 129,500 wet blues for 2014 were reported for China (55,400 unsplit and 9,500 grain splits), Mexico (21,300 grain splits), Italy (14,500 unsplit), and Taiwan (11,400 unsplit).  Exports of 164,900 wet blues were primarily to China (57,000 unsplit and 6,300 grain splits), Italy (19,300 unsplit and 7,200 grain splits), Vietnam (26,300 unsplit), Mexico (20,400 grain splits and 4,600 unsplit), Taiwan (6,900 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (3,200 unsplit and 2,200 grain splits).  Net sales of splits totaling 133,300 pounds for 2014 were reported for Hong Kong (79,300 pounds), South Korea (57,700 pounds), and India (4,500 pounds).  Decreases were reported for Vietnam (8,200 pounds).  Exports of 710,300 pounds were reported to South Korea (517,300 pounds), Hong Kong (150,000 pounds) and China (43,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 18,500 MT for 2014--a marketing-year high--were up 34 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Hong Kong (4,800 MT), South Korea (4,100 MT), Japan (3,900 MT), Mexico (2,400 MT), and Taiwan (1,300 MT).  Exports of 12,400 MT were up 1 percent from the previous week, but down 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,700 MT), Hong Kong (2,500 MT), Mexico (2,100 MT), South Korea (1,800 MT), and Canada (800 MT).

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated beef exports for 2010 were adjusted down 19,331 MT for the period beginning week ending October 21, 2010 through week ending December 30, 2010.  Total adjustments by country for this period include:  Angola (-265 MT), Canada (-682 MT), the Dominican Republic (-20 MT), Egypt (-874 MT), Guatemala (-46 MT), Honduras (-10 MT), Hong Kong (-390 MT), Indonesia (-538 MT), India (-40 MT), Iraq (-80 MT), Jamaica (-297 MT), Japan (-504 MT), Mexico (-6,519 MT), Panama (-40 MT), Peru (-18 MT), the Philippines (-1,318 MT), Russia (-1,988 MT), Singapore (-35 MT), South Korea (-2,373 MT), Taiwan (-1,979 MT), Thailand (-278 MT), Ukraine (194 MT), Vietnam (-820 MT), Virgin Islands (-23 MT). 

Pork:  Net sales of 4,200 MT for 2014--a marketing-year low-were down 69 percent from the previous week and 48 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (1,000 MT), Honduras (600 MT), Japan (600 MT), Mexico (600 MT), and China (500 MT).  Exports of 9,100 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,300 MT), Japan (1,500 MT), Hong Kong (1,100 MT), South Korea (1,000 MT), and Canada (700 MT).
