Video: Innovative Cover Crops for Corn and Wheat

Ontario Pork worked with Krayeenbrink Farms in 2014 to determine if planting cover crops into growing grain crops (wheat and corn) would protect the soil from erosion and reduce compaction. Interestingly, some of the cover crops boosted yields when planted into the growing grain crop. Trials were conducted planting cover crop seeds ahead of manure application, into the trench and behind the manure applicator.
