This morning, we planted our rice crop. We had asked our breeders for suggestions on what varieties to grow this time. On one half, we planted a brand-new IRRI inbred variety, NSIC Rc302 (IR05A272), which was approved for release in the Philippines just a few weeks ago. On the other half, we planted a hybrid that was released in 2010
