SneakPeek: Tribine combine + 1000 bu graincart

Report this Message

An innovative combination combine and grain cart called the Tribine is the result of Indiana's Ben Dillons's idea and persistence over 12 years of work in his farm shop.

The Tribine is a combine and grain cart in one articulated unit that offers the first game changing new harvester architecture to come out since self-propelled combines launched in the 1940s. Dillon’s modified AGCO Combine moves the grain tank from the top of the machine to the rear, allowing for a much larger hopper to be included.

The Tribine will be making its world debut at the Ag Connect Expo that runs Jan. 29 to 31 in Kansas City. The potential final commercial cost of the Tribine has not yet been determined, but it does have the potential to fundamentally change the harvesting market.

What does everyone think of the idea?

It shows how talented people come out of nowhere . Great idea. Now who is going to make a 2000 bushell grain cart?

Dear Joe:

I read your post on farms.com about the combine. In 1980 I was a HI dealer and we had a product show in Kansas City MO featuring the HI 50 series tractor and Axial Flow Combines. At the banquet our group had a young engineer at our table who drew a combine on a napkin that was articulate steering, large cab with no steering wheel, 24 row corn header, 6' wide low pressure tires or tracks and a 1000 bushel grain cart that would separate from the combine only to be replaced by another unit. These carts would drive themselves to a collection point on the field where they would unload into a semi. Other features were the combine would monitor the moisture level of the grain and dry it as it flowed through the combine. In 1980 we sat in disbelief however much of that technology is available today.

Best regards Terry

Thanks for sharing Terry.

Great story. I agree today's technology is a result of some of these visions of the future. I am sending this from my smartphone...the innovation in farming is pretty cool.

Take care,
