Live Cattle Commodity Update for the Week Ending Jan 12, 2018

The week of Jan 08, 2018 saw the price of live cattle end at 119.45. Compared to last week’s ending price of 120.85 the price of live cattle dropped by 1.2%.

The lowest price point for live cattle during the week occurred on Jan 10, 2018 when the price was at 118.675.

In the span of a month, the price of live cattle dropped by 1.3%. At this time last month, live cattle was at 120.975 and have since dropped to 119.45.

Live cattle has also seen an improvement from last year. At this time in 2017, the price was at 100.3. The change in prices from a year ago represents an increase of 19.1%.

On Jan 31, 2017, live cattle had its worst day as far as markets go when it was at 99.25.

Live cattle’s total volume for the week was 164925. Its worst performing day came on Jan 11, 2018, when the commodity saw its weekly low of 30186.
