Last year I had the opportunity to attend and participate at some of the best conferences on precision agriculture and agriculture technology. January 5-6, 2016

January 7-8, 2016

Precision Ag Summit 2016, Jamestown, North Dakota

January 18-19, 2016

Red River Valley Research Corridor is co-hosting the 2016 Precision Ag Action Summit with North Dakota Farmers Union.

Attendees will hear from experts and presenters on a number of topics. Attending the summit offers hands on and technical demonstrations of precision agriculture technologies and applications and explanations of applications, procedure and tools designed to lower producer cost and create a more efficient environment for farm production.

 

2016 PrecisionAg Innovation Series - Agriculture & Data Finding What Works, St. Louis, MO

How Is Data Impacting You? The PrecisionAg Innovation Series is bringing you an exclusive opportunity to find out what’s working “on the ground” for growers and consultants with data platforms and strategies. There will be open and robust discussion about the myriad systems, programs and applications available for collecting and managing data in agriculture today.

You will join grower panelists, who will provide perspective on their own experiences in a “coffee shop conversation” format led by moderator Lisa Prassack, owner of Prassack Consultants. Auburn University and Alabama Extension professionals will host a Precision Agriculture Workshop in Auburn, Ala. on Jan. 28, 2016. The event will take place at the Auburn University Dixon Hotel and Conference Center. Emerging Agriculture - Agriculture Hackathon, University of Saskatchewan, Canada

Emerging Agriculture is a 3 day hackathon that connects non-students and students from all colleges (Commerce, Engineering, Computer Science, Agriculture) together to collaborate on agriculture based ideas. Emerging Agriculture's goal is to connect these individuals, with the anticipation that startup companies may emerge from their collaborations.

 

Syngenta Crop Challenge

Syngenta and INFORMS Announce New Crop Challenge Award in Analytics, Operations Research.

Open innovation approaches and platforms such as those used to host the Crop Challenge allow the INFORMS community to share ideas, interact with others’ ideas, and work collaboratively to find solutions to problems or take advantage of opportunities.

 

SmartAg4.0 Hackathon, Ohio State University (OSU)

February 19-21, 2016

The Mixing Bowl is working with the Ohio State University College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences to produce their first student hackathon, SmartAg4.0. The event will be held February on the OSU campus.

In conjunction with Stanford’s FEED Collaborative, The Mixing Bowl will organize the third annual Food IT conference at Stanford to bring together Food/Ag-focused start-ups, venture capitalists, IT innovators, and small/mid/large food and agricultural sector players. The daylong event will be held at the Arrillaga Alumni Center at Stanford University on June 22th, 2016.
