Cattle Prices In Saskatchewan Move Upward In Latest Weekly Update

Cattle prices across Saskatchewan were mainly higher during the past week.
 
Provincial livestock economist Brad Marceniuk says stronger demand pushed up prices during the past week.
 
He says the biggest jump in feeder steer prices was in the 900 pound category, up as much as 10 dollars 44 cents per hundredweight.
 
In the benchmark 500 to 600 pound category, feeder steer prices were up 1 dollar 33 cents to average 188 dollars 83 cents per hundredweight.
 
Feeder heifer prices were up as much as 13 dollars per hundredweight.
 
The price of D1, D2 slaughter cows dropped 51 cents per hundredweight to average 91 dollars 7 cents, while D3 cows rose 30 cents to 81 dollars 30 cents per hundredweight.
