US Crop Progress Report: Corn 30% Planted.

 

U.S. corn planting, overall, stayed ahead of average last week.

USDA released the weekly Crop Progress Report.

Highlights

As of Sunday, 30% of corn is planted, compared to 16% a year ago and the five year average of 16%. Missouri remains in the lead at 81% planted, compared to the usual pace of 31%. 5% of corn has emerged, versus 4% normally this time of year.

3% of soybeans are planted, compared to 2% on average.

26% of the winter wheat crop has headed, slightly ahead of usual, and 59% of the crop is rated good to excellent, up 2% on the week.

42% of spring wheat has been planted and 8% has emerged.
