The Animal Care Assessment Program (ACAP) for dairy cattle is being touted as a win-win for both producers and consumers. The guidelines were developed under the leadership of farmers and in conjunction with government, animal welfare and consumer groups. Ryan Dykstra, a producer and member of the ACAP program development team, says the assessment protocol benefits everyone from producers to consumers.
