Agribition In Regina Enjoys Profitable Year

Canadian Western Agribition in Regina is reporting a profit of 745 thousand dollars, a slight drop from last year.

President Stewart Stone says last fall’s show generated the second highest value in livestock sales in decades, 2.9 million dollars.

He says international sales were 500 thousand dollars, with foreign buyers doing more business at the show in one year than the previous four years combined.

Stone says Agribition has a provincial economic impact of 56 million dollars each year.

He says ticketed events like the rodeo and jousting reached a record high of 25 thousand people.

He says the completion of the new International Trade Centre will offer expanded facilities and services at this falls annual show.
