Before Seeding, Check Equipment

Farmers will be busy over the next few weeks trying to get this year’s crop in the ground.

One of the elements to a strong healthy crop establishment is making sure the equipment is doing its job.

Shawn Senko, an Agronomist with the Canola Council of Canada,  says it all starts with doing a general check on the drill.

"Walk around the entire drill check the tire condition, hoses, manifolds, the tips, make sure that they aren't worn and get good ground penetration and good seed and fertilizer seperation. The once you've gone through the mechanical aspect and then the next important thing is to level the drill."
