Beef Farmers of Ontario officials are keeping an eye on the Cargill meat plant situation in Guelph.
Workers at the company’s Dunlop beef processing facility have given their union negotiators a strike mandate.
Such a strike could start as early as the next couple of weeks.
A Cargill spokesperson says the company will continue to negotiate in good faith and is hopeful an agreement can be reached that’s satisfactory to both sides.
