The 40th Canada Farm Progress Show was officially kicked off in Regina on Tuesday night, in what organizers are hoping will be another half-billion dollar venture for the businesses and entrepreneurs involved.
Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart — one of many keynote speakers at the event at the new Mosaic Stadium — says it’s more than just the city of Regina which enjoys the benefits of the technological and financial windfall of the biggest show of it’s kind.
“It’s a great economic opportunity,” Stewart said after the opening ceremonies. “Not to mention the economic opportunity for this city and southern Saskatchewan, with all the guests we get.
