Canadian Agricultural Safety Association Welcomes Support From G3 On Grain Safety Program

The Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) is pleased to announce that G3 Canada Limited (G3) has committed funding in support of CASA’s Grain Safety Program.

G3, Canada's newest grain handling company, will contribute $75,000 over three years to CASA’s new Grain Safety Program. At the heart of this program is the mobile demonstration unit. The mobile unit will have three purposes: train first responders in grain extraction procedures, bring awareness to the general public about the dangers of grain entrapment and provide on-site training to workplaces.

“G3 is investing in the safety of farmers and their families,” says Marcel Hacault, CASA’s Executive Director. “This contribution, one of the single largest from agribuisness, shows G3’s outstanding commitment to farm safety.”

The Grain Safety Program will begin with building and operating a mobile demonstration unit in the Prairie Provinces, developing a trade show display, youth table top displays and a grain safety website.

“G3 is thrilled to partner with CASA on the Grain Safety Program. At G3, safety is one of our top priorities – we believe that no job is so important that it can’t be done safely,” says Karl Gerrand, CEO of G3 Canada Limited. “Grain entrapment is entirely preventable, and we need to keep building awareness around safe practices for storing and maintaining grain until we reach zero fatalities in Canada.”
