Canadian Grain Commission Still Accepting Samples

A reminder for farmers there’s still time to submit crop samples to the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC).

The CGC’s harvest sample program gives potential customers information on this year’s Canadian crop.

The Canadian harvest sample program also provides growers with grade and quality information including protein levels for cereal grains and pulses; oil, protein and chlorophyll for canola; and oil and protein content for flax, mustard and soybeans.

The information is provided for free but samples must be submitted to the CGC by November 1st.

Samples should be submitted in the harvest sample envelopes supplied by the CGC, highlighting both the class and the variety grown.
