Canadian Milk Production Up In November, Ontario Numbers Down

Canadian milk production was up in November from both October and from a year ago.

Statistics Canada says the month-to-month increase in production was about 1 and a half per cent while the year-over-year increase was about 5 and a quarter per cent.

Ontario’s production was also up in November from October – by just over 1 per cent.

However, it was down from November of 2013 by almost 4 and a half per cent.

Statscan says Total cash receipts from dairy operations were up just over 4 per cent nationally, year over year, but down just over half a percent from October to November.

Ontario’s dairy cash receipts in November were up over 5 and a quarter per cent on the year – down almost 1 per cent from October.
