Canola Council Of Canada Is Searching For Their Next President

The CCC has retained the firm of Scott Wolfe Management Inc. to conduct the search, and the selection process will be overseen by the Executive Committee of the CCC Board of Directors.

The search follows the upcoming departure of President Patti Miller, who has been appointed as Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC), beginning February 13, 2017. Miller has served as the Canola Council President since 2012.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Patti for her five great years of leadership of our organization, and her contribution to the grains and oilseed sector,” says Brian Conn, Chair of the CCC Board of Directors. “Canada’s agriculture industry will continue to be well served through her future role at the helm of the CGC.”

Conn also announced that in addition to his responsibilities as Vice-President of Crop Production and Innovation, Dr. Curtis Rempel will serve as the lead point of contact for the CCC during the recruitment process.

“The Council has a strong, collaborative senior management team and our Board has full confidence in their abilities to effectively lead the activities of the Council until recruitment for a new President is completed.”

The Canola Council of Canada is a full value chain organization representing canola growers, processors, life science companies and exporters. Keep it Coming 2025 is the strategic plan to ensure the canola industry’s continued growth, demand, stability and success –  achieving 52 bushels per acre to meet global market demand of 26 million metric tonnes by the year 2025. The Canola Council will celebrate its 50th anniversary at the annual Canola Council Convention, March 7-9, 2017 in Winnipeg, MB.
