Cereal Crops Yield Surprisingly Good Results In Southwest Saskatchewan

Cereal Crops Yield Surprisingly Good Results In Southwest Saskatchewan
Combining is approaching the half way mark across southwest Saskatchewan.

The regional crop specialist in Swift Current, Kale Wilson, says yields are wide ranging with pulses average to below average.

He says cereal crop yields are a pleasant surprise with a close to average crop.

“The yields in the cereals is very surprising,” Wilson said. “Most of it is due to the stored moisture that was there. It’s very surprising to be close to average when half the regions didn’t receive the rainfall.”
