Producers are expected to bring in another large crop, despite the fact that heavy rain, winds and hail damaged some of the crop.
Bruce Burnett, a weather and crop specialist with G3 Canada says about 40% of the Prairie production is in while here in Saskatchewan progress is at about 32% in the bin.
He notes a key concern with all the rain has been disease issues:
"Durum seems to be impacted the most by fusarium - it's very much a regional issue.
In some areas the damage isn't all that great, but in other areas we're seeing severe damage and downgrading due to fusarium levels," he said.
