De Dell Plants The First Organic Pre-Commercial Screening Corn Trial

De Dell Seeds planted their first Organic Pre-Commercial Corn trials on May 24th near Ingersoll, Ontario. The one acre research trial was planted with 25 pre-commercial experimental corn hybrids, 10  commercial organic hybrids and five additional untreated check hybrids for comparison. Although the genetics are the same between De Dell’s organic seed corn and the identical conventional hybrid, the goal of the organic screening trials is to compare each hybrid’s performance in an organic setting versus a conventional field. De Dell is largely considered the leader in organic and non-gmo seed corn, and this type of research shows their ongoing commitment to this sector of the ag industry.
