Drones Growing In Popularity Within Agriculture Sector

There’s a growing interest in drones and their use in Agriculture.

Kelsey Martin is President of  Martin Remote Sensing Corporation out of Hanna, Alberta.

He says they purchased two drones last fall and went through the Transport Canada Requirement to get his Flight Operations Certificate.

He says now they provide aerial surveying for not only mining, oil and gas  but for farmers and ranchers as well.

"Our big focus right now with agriculture being so strong and with all of the difficulties getting all of the licensing and the headache of the software, we have had a lot of demand for plant health monitoring, contour monitoring and also some drainage mapping in the fall," he said.
