DuPont To Supply Enzymes For Biogas Production

DuPont Industrial Biosciences has entered into an agreement to supply enzymes to MIAVIT GmbH for incorporation in biogas-boosting products. Enzyme technology helps improve biogas yields and process robustness, ultimately increasing customers' revenue and profitability while increasing offerings in renewable energy, DuPont reports.

DuPont Industrial Biosciences will provide an enzyme biotechnology product to MIAVIT for inclusion in its MiaMethan ProCut, a new biogas ingredient for the agricultural sector. MiaMethan ProCut helps improve the breakdown of poorly digestible materials to allow for more efficient conversion to biogas. DuPont has more than three decades of experience supplying enzymes into new markets.

In July, DuPont announced its entry into the growing biogas sector with the launch of Optimash Ad-100, a new liquid enzyme product that has been shown to produce up to a 13% increase in biogas yields in anaerobic digesters. Fibrezyme G4, the company's latest enzyme offering, available in powder format, helps reduce the viscosity of poorly digestible materials by over 60%, thereby allowing faster processing time.
