Fusarium Appearing In Harvest Sample Program Results

Results are starting to come in from the Canadian Grain Commission's (CGC) Harvest Sample Program.

Research Scientist Dr. David Hatcher says samples are slowly starting to roll in after the late harvest.

He notes the results are not as promising as they had originally hoped for.

"Well fusarium is definitely one of the major grading factors that we are seeing this year," said Dr. Hatcher. "There is a large amount of fusarium being reported by the community. We have seen indications of that in our harvest survey."

Producers still have time to submit their samples, as the deadline for the Harvest Sample Program has been extended to December 31st.
