Grain Growers of Canada Statement on Canadian Agricultural Partnership program funding allocations

Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) is pleased to see the clear focus on innovation, market access and a prosperous future for Canadian agriculture in yesterday’s announcement of the federal programs under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP).

“Canadian grain farmers are globally innovative market leaders,” said GGC President, Jeff Nielsen. “Investments into the agriculture industry will help us meet the Government’s target of $75 billion in exports by 2025. This goal is achievable and government partnerships are crucial to our success.”

“I was pleased to hear that there would be no funding gaps, with programs starting April 1, 2018,” continued Mr. Nielsen. “Grain growers look forward to working with government as these programs roll out to maximize support for Canada’s growing middle class.”
