Grain Price Outlook Moving Down For Wheat But Up For Canola

The latest G3 Canada grain price outlook is moving down for wheat but up for canola.

The pool return outlook is down as much as 7 dollars a ton for wheat and 32 dollars a ton for durum.

Canola is moving up ten dollars per ton in the latest monthly outlook.

Bruce Burnett, G3 market analyst, says the wheat harvest is complete in South America and production has been very good, putting a damper on some prices.

But he says spring wheat has seen renewed interest.

He says durum crops in North Africa are off to a good start so durum prices are also showing downward movement but there will likely be more demand once the St. Lawrence Seaway opens for spring shipping.

Burnett says canola prices are moving up based on continued strong demand and some problems with the soybean crop in Argentina.
