Harvest continues in Manitoba, although wet weather and field conditions continued to interfere with progress over the past week in some parts of the province.
As the spring-seeded crops continue to come off the fields, Manitoba Agriculture cereal specialist Pam de Rocquigny says we're seeing quite a bit of variability in yields.
"I think a lot of the variability that we are seeing in a lot of our spring cereal crops, and our canola that's just starting to come off as well, is largely related to the excess moisture that we've seen throughout the province in various areas," she says, "and I think, too, disease is probably causing a little bit of concern in, say, our canola crops."
