Hensall Co-op Acquires Ball Farm Services Ltd.


HENSALL, Ontario  — Hensall District Co-operative, Inc. (Hensall Co-op), a leading farmer owned co-operative in the Canadian agricultural sector, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the shares of Ball Farm Services Ltd. With a retail outlet located in Aylmer, Ontario, the business provides a wide range of agronomy solutions including both crop products and services.

"Adding dedicated crop input assets and capability to our Aylmer facilities strengthens our value proposition for producers in and around Elgin County." stated Brad Chandler the CEO of Hensall Co-op. "With our full range of agronomic products and services producers in the area can rely on Hensall Co-op to improve their farming operations."

“This investment illustrates our continued commitment to growing our value added services for producers in the areas we serve” added Steve Jansen, President of the Board of Directors. “We look forward to further strengthening our relationships and sharing the benefits of ownership with the farming community in and around Aylmer.”

The acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions. Hensall Co-op has entered into a leasing arrangement in order commence operating the facility in time to meet the needs of local producers in time for the 2018 planting season. The terms of the agreement including financial details were not disclosed.
