Agribusiness human resource professionals, university career services personnel and association representatives gathered in St. Charles, Missouri last week for the 13th annual AgCareers.com Ag & Food HR Roundtable.

Held August 4-6, the Roundtable drew a crowd of more than 230 participants this year for networking opportunities, continued education, and entertainment. Monsanto Company hosted the event at Lindenwood University's J. Scheidegger Center.

Tuesday's sessions shed light on the issues of improved branding within agribusinesses as well as discussions about human capital. Wednesday was packed with sessions on the importance of cultural fit, student recruitment, performance management, and concurrent sessions tailored to the conference's diverse assembly of university, recruiting and HR management professionals.

Thursday's events concluded the Roundtable with a panel discussion on diversity recruitment. This was followed by concurrent sessions specific to university professionals, small and mid-sized organizations and large organizations.

New this year was an add-on workshop discussing Military Recruitment. Participants took away knowledge about sourcing military talent as well as successfully interpreting military experience.

The conference also made time for participants to network and have fun. Attendees enjoyed catching up Tuesday evening at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in St. Charles during a welcome reception sponsored by CHS, Inc. Wednesday evening's networking dinner was sponsored by BASF and Bayer Crop Science, and took attendees to The Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles.

Mark your calendars for next year's Ag & Food HR Roundtable August 2-4, 2016 in Johnston, Iowa. The 2016 event will be hosted by DuPont Ag & Nutrition.
