In 2015, PRIAXOR® Fungicide Registered for Canola, Pulses

New fungicide registered for canola, pulses, corn, soybeans and flax delivering the new active XEMIUM® on more crops in 2015

MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 11, 2014 – BASF Canada is delivering a new fungicide for disease management and plant health benefits to growers across Western Canada. With the registration of PRIAXOR ® fungicide, the unique active XEMIUM ® will be available on a wider range of crops in the 2015 growing season.

PRIAXOR is the next installment in the BASF fungicide portfolio and delivers the unique AgCelence® benefits growers have come to trust in HEADLINE®. These benefits include broad-spectrum disease control, increased growth efficiency, and better management of minor plant stress. This is often seen through plants that are taller, with greener, larger leaves and stronger stems and leads to increased crop potential.

“PRIAXOR is a game changer in the fungicide market, giving growers more continuous and consistent disease control,” said Jason Leitch, Fungicide Brand Manager at BASF. “It now offers canola growers the two modes of action working together to control blackleg to build a stronger, healthier canola plant.”

The fungicide contains the active ingredient XEMIUM, first seen in the pulse fungicide PRIAXOR DS. XEMIUM is a Group 7, SDHI fungicide that complements the Group 11 active ingredient, pyraclostrobin. It delivers unique mobility characteristics for better penetration and movement throughout the leaf. It also forms depots of the active ingredient on the leaf’s surface to deliver a consistent supply to the plant.

PRIAXOR is a multiple-mode-of-action product that provides growers a new tool in their integrated disease resistance management strategy. It will be available for sale in Western Canada for the 2015 season for use on canola, pulses, corn, soybeans and flax.

PRIAXOR, XEMIUM and AgCelence are registered trade-marks of BASF SE; HEADLINE is a registered trade-mark of BASF Corporation; all used with permission by BASF Canada Inc. PRIAXOR and/or HEADLINE should be used in a preventative disease control program.
