John Deere ExactApply™ retrofit kits available for existing 4-Series Sprayers

Producers and ag service providers currently operating 2014-2018 model year John Deere 4-Series Sprayers can now gain greater accuracy and control of spray applications by installing ExactApply™ retrofit kits.

Introduced in 2016 as a factory-installed option for new model year 2018 sprayers, the ExactApply nozzle control system provides operators a comprehensive solution that improves the coverage and control of spray applications due to its industry-exclusive Pulse Width Modulation (30 hertz pulsing) and automatic A/B nozzle switching from the sprayer cab. The system also offers operators turn compensation, individual nozzle on/off control, and smart diagnostics to improve, monitor and document sprayer applications at the nozzle.

ExactApply retrofit kits are available for all R4030, R4038 and R4045 Sprayers manufactured since these models were introduced and that are equipped with stainless-steel plumbing and steel booms, no matter the boom size. Kits include new ExactApply nozzle bodies, new electrical boom harnessing to power and control the nozzles, and a higher capacity alternator for the machine to provide for the added electrical power demands.

According to Doug Felter, product marketing manager for application equipment at John Deere, ExactApply retrofit kits give owners of existing 4-Series Sprayers the same fully integrated operational control, accuracy and documentation that’s available on new machines with ExactApply.

“Due to the ever-increasing demand for greater precision, control and documentation of spray applications, ExactApply has rapidly become a very popular option on new 4-Series Sprayers,” Felter explains. “Now operators of model year 2014 and newer R4030, R4038 and R4045 machines have the same ability to precisely manage droplet size and coverage of products being applied, enhancing the accuracy and efficacy of the applied products while optimizing input costs.”

In addition, John Deere ExactApply retrofit-equipped sprayers offer the following benefits to customers:
  • The ability to switch between two pre-selected nozzles with the push of a button from inside the cab.
  • Full variable-rate functionality at the nozzle level to ensure the correct amount of material is applied to the right area of the field, even when turning.
  • LED lighting on each individual nozzle for improved visibility of spray pattern in low-light conditions.
“ExactApply nozzle control is fully integrated with SprayStar™ and the GreenStar™2630 or 4600 CommandCenter™ Display, making it compatible with the entire suite of John Deere precision and data management products our application customers are using,” adds Felter. “Large producers and ag-service providers will see significant improvements in spray performance, coverage and accuracy, especially on hills, turns, point rows and irregular shaped fields.”
