KICK THE DIRT with Grape Growers of Ontario

“There’s something extra special about uncorking a bottle and indulging in a glass of Chardonnay crafted from grapes grown in your backyard, nurtured in local soils, and harvested by your neighbours”, says Matthias Oppenlaender, Chair Grape Growers of Ontario.

Grape Growers of Ontario is providing an in-the-vineyard experience for consumers to meet with grape growers, learn their family history, and learn first-hand about grape growing as part of the International Cool Climate Chardonnay (i4c) weekend of events.

The KICK THE DIRT journey begins with a narrated motor coach ride with a grape grower sharing stories from the people behind Ontario’s wine.  It includes a visit to two vineyards with picturesque views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario.  Meet the passionate grape growers who tend the grapes, the winemakers who craft the wine, and taste the Chardonnay made from the grapes grown right there in the vineyard.

KICK THE DIRT is Saturday, July 21st, 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. Space is limited and tickets must be purchased in advance through www.coolchardonnay.org.   Get ready to kick off your fancy shoes to Kick the Dirt with the people who Grow the Wines You Love.
