In the latest crop progress report released Monday, September 18, 2017, the United States Department of Agriculture rated the US corn crop condition unchanged from a week ago, at 61 percent good to excellent, 26 percent fair and 13 percent poor to very poor. The US soybean condition has slipped just slightly from last week, rated at 59 percent good to excellent, 29 percent fair and 12 percent poor to very poor. According to the weekly crop progress report from USDA, Oklahoma winter wheat planted reached 11 percent, down 5 points from the previous year and down 1 points from normal. Corn dent reached 91 percent, down 3 points from normal. Corn mature reached 65 percent, down 11 points from normal. Corn harvested reached 31 percent, down 3 points from normal. Sorghum coloring reached 81 percent, down 4 points from normal. Sorghum mature reached 46 percent, down 1 points from normal. Sorghum harvested reached 17 percent, down 3 points from normal. Cotton bolls opening reached 44 percent, up 8 points from the previous year but unchanged from normal. Conditions of pasture and range were rated at 83 percent good to fair. click hereIn Kansas winter wheat planted was 7 percent, near 8 for both last year and the five-year average. Corn condition rated 5 percent very poor, 12 poor, 28 fair, 43 good, and 12 excellent. Corn dented was 91 percent, near 95 last year and 94 average. Mature was 61 percent, near 62 last year, and equal to average. Harvested was 19 percent, near 16 last year, but behind 24 average. Sorghum condition rated 2 percent very poor, 7 poor, 32 fair, 49 good, and 10 excellent. Sorghum coloring was 81 percent, behind 91 last year, but near 79 average.
