Federal Ag Minister Lawrence MacAuley continued his visit to Saskatchewan Thursday.
MacAuley and Provincial Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart visited the Food Farm at Moose Jaw.
The Food Farm is a joint program involving the Ministry of Agriculture, The Agriculture in the Classroom program and others, it’s also part of the Federal Provincial Agriculture Awareness Initiative Program that helps tell Saskatchewan’s Agriculture story.
Minister MacAuley says the Ag in the Classroom program is very important.
"1 in 50 families have a connection to the farm today, and as the years go by there seems to be less people with connections to agriculture and really do not realize the importance of agriculture," he said.
