Mahindra NA Supports American Manufacturing with I Make America Event
Equipment Manufacturer Celebrates Manufacturing Jobs
Mahindra North America celebrated manufacturing jobs and pro-manufacturing policies when it hosted an I Make America event at its Chattanooga, Tenn. distribution center on July 11.
Mahindra NA, which is one of the fastest-growing manufacturers of tractors in the United States, held the event to help promote pro-manufacturing solutions and economic investment as manufacturing voters in Tennessee and across the country prepares to go to the polls in November’s general election.
“We wanted to welcome I Make America to our assembly and distribution center in Chattanooga because we believe in doing all we can to promote the economic contribution of the entire manufacturing industry and our continued investment in local communities across the county.” said Mani Iyer, president and CEO for Mahindra USA. “Mahindra is proud of the jobs it supports here and across the United States, and we hope to help elected leaders understand how manufacturing helps form the backbone of the American economy.”
I Make America is a grassroots campaign launched five years ago by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), a global trade association representing manufacturers of farm, construction, utility and mining equipment in North America. I Make America is dedicated to raising awareness of sound public policies that benefit the entire equipment manufacturing industry.
In 2016, I Make America will visit over three dozen manufacturers to engage both employees and elected officials on the issues that matter to manufacturers. Today’s event at Mahindra was the company’s first I Make America event at one of the company’s facilities in the United States.
“We were thrilled to visit Mahindra because their story is emblematic of the success we are trying to highlight through I Make America,” said Dennis Slater, the president of AEM. “Mahindra’s success means they are supporting more jobs here in Tennessee, as well as in Kansas, Pennsylvania, California, Arkansas and at its Texas headquarters. We hope the I Make America campaign can further support growth at Mahindra, and at manufacturers across our industry.”
