Manitoba Corn Growers Offering Cash Advances For Unharvested Crops

Farmers who have been unable to harvest some of this year's corn may be eligible for a cash advance through the Manitoba Corn Growers Association (MCGA).

"With the way the harvest went this year, there are still some farmers who have some crop out," said General Manager Theresa Bergsma. "We just want to make sure that all farmers realize that there some additional money available to them,"

She notes that advances also remain available for corn already harvested and stored in bins.

The revised application deadline runs through to March of 2017.

The cash advance program is funded through MCGA, and is guaranteed by the federal government.
