The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says that Peru, Belarus, and Taiwan have imposed temporary restrictions on beef imports due to the recent case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) discovered in a beef breeding cow near Edmonton, AB.

Indonesia has also imposed temporary import restrictions on some non-edible meat products.

Earlier this month, South Korea temporarily suspended imports of beef.
