MPSG Announces Smart Day, Encourages Farmers And Agronomists To Attend

It’s an exciting time of year for Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers (MPSG). One of the association’s flagship events Soybean Management and Research Transfer (SMART) Day is around the corner. It’s taking place on Wednesday, July 20 at the Ian N. Morrison research farm in Carman, MB. Farmers and agronomists interested in advancing their knowledge of soybean management are encouraged to attend.

“Last year’s event was a huge success, and this year’s SMART Day will be just as exciting,” says Kristen Podolsky, MPSG’s Production Specialist. “We have some new speakers and we’ve kept the lessons interactive and relevant. Soybean nitrogen dynamics and seed quality are some of the most common questions we get and they will be addressed at this year’s event. We will also be tackling issues surrounding soybean disease management with a focus on root rot, which has been a problem in many fields this year.”

SMART Day is an all-day educational opportunity for farmers and agronomists to sharpen their soybean management skills. Attendees will tour agronomic research plots, learn how results can be applied to their farm and interact with researchers and production specialists.

“SMART Day is our opportunity to share our extensive, timely, unbiased research results and production resources,” says Research Manager Laryssa Grenkow. “And SMART Day is your opportunity to bring forward your soybean management questions and have experts at your fingertips to provide you with answers.”
