The Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers Association is pleased to announce the election of Jason Voth as Chair of its Board of Directors, and Frank Prince as Vice-Chair.
Voth, an edible bean, soybean and pea farmer near Altona, Man., accepted the nomination at a Board of Directors meeting on March 30. He brings to the position five years of experience serving on MPSG’s Board, three years of which were spent in the Vice-Chair seat.
“I am excited to continue all the good work going on here,” says Voth. “We have great momentum right now, providing value back to our producers, expanding our on-farm research, and continuing our progress on value-added processing for soybeans here in Manitoba.”
Frank Prince, a soybean farmer in the Waskada, Manitoba area and an MPSG Board member since 2013, accepted the nomination to take on the position of Vice-Chair.
“We benefited from Jason’s leadership in the Vice-Chair position,” says MPSG Executive Director Francois Labellle. “And now we have the honour of experiencing where his and Frank Prince’s unique, focused, and collaborative skillset will take the Board and the association in 2016. It’s an exciting year for us here. It’s the International Year of Pulses.”
The United Nations have declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses (IYOP), a global campaign to increase consumption and awareness of pulse crops. The Manitoba Pulse & Soybean Growers Association has an exciting year of IYOP initiatives planned throughout the province, such as the Pulse Pledge, the Why Pulses? Challenge, and Kid Bean and the Bean Team.
