Ready, Set, Smart:  Husqvarna launches two new innovations

 From Husqvarna News

MISSISSAUGA - As the world’s largest producer of outdoor power equipment, Husqvarna is constantly developing their product line to meet the ever changing needs of their customers to make life easier, and the outdoors more enjoyable.  This month Husqvarna launches two new innovations that will revolutionize the way that consumers look at garden tractors.  New for 2014 SmartSwitch™ and ReadyStart® technologies are designed to bring convenience to customers across Canada.

 SmartSwitch™

SmartSwitch is Husqvarna’s latest feature for garden tractors. This revolutionary new advance in tractor mower technology brings the convenience of one-touch starting, real-time feedback and keyless security to lawn equipment. Available on Husqvarna’s RZ46i and GT52XLSi mowers SmartSwitch’s features include; system monitoring for updated battery status, programmable headlights able to shut off after a pre-set time and one touch reverse operating system. Combine these features with the fact that you’ll never be searching through your shed for your keys again, and you’re going to love your riding mower even more.

“At Husqvarna we have a legacy of developing tools to meet the wants and needs of our loyal customers,” says Scott Ride, President of Husqvarna Canada. “Our customers were eager for intelligent feedback, easier starting procedures, and increased security from their Husqvarna riding mowers. With SmartSwitch they get all of those things, and more.”

Key features of SmartSwitch include:
A system that talks back - The microprocessor-controlled display gives the user clear feedback if anything needs to be corrected before starting - battery status, the parking brake or the cutting deck. Instead of guessing, SmartSwitch provides immediate and correct information.

Smart Operation and fewer nuisances - The built-in intelligence of SmartSwitch makes handling very easy, by telling the driver if something is wrong or needs to be corrected. Should the driver forget, SmartSwitch will remember. For instance, if the driver shifts into reverse without pressing the ‘mowing in reverse option’, the system will automatically shut down the cutting deck and leave the engine going. Should the tractor be left on with the headlights on, SmartSwitch takes care of that too by switching them off.

Key-less operation – Along with the convenience of one touch starting, it also eliminates potential for lost keys or dead batteries when keys are left on (since the system automatically shuts down after a period of inactivity).

System Monitoring – A button showing current battery status will inform the user if the battery is below acceptable level or if the charging system is not functioning. It can also give multi-color indication of the current battery charge level.

ReadyStart®

New for 2014, Husqvarna is also launching ReadyStart® technology; no prime, no choke, no flooding and no hassle required. With ReadyStart technology the automatic choke senses engine temperature and delivers the right amount of fuel for starting, every time. ReadyStart is available exclusively on riding mowers with Briggs & Stratton engines, which are available at dealers across Canada and Canadian Tire.

Products featuring Husqvarna SmartSwitch and ReadyStart are available now at Husqvarna dealers across Canada. For more information, or to find a dealer near you go to www.Husqvarna.ca.
