Purdue Extension Hosts Risk Management Education Series For Women In ag

Purdue Extension in Steuben County will host a series of risk management education classes for women in agriculture, starting May 19.

Participants will learn to use Code Red, an Excel-based resource developed by Purdue’s Women in Agriculture program to help farm families and owners of other small businesses keep important information handy in the event they need it in an emergency.

Other topics include managing human resources; farm financial analysis; financing and investing; estate, succession and business planning; crisis management; marketing terms, bid sheets and marketing options; conservation practices; crops and livestock insurance; and drones in commercial agriculture.

Classes will meet Tuesdays, from 6-9 p.m., May 19 through June 23, at the Steuben County Community Center, 317 S. Wayne St., Angola.

Registration is due May 5. Cost is $75 for the first participant and $10 for each additional family member.
