Rainfall Welcomed By The Agriculture Industry

Today’s rainfall is a welcome site in many areas.

The forecast is calling for the rain to continue throughout today and tomorrow.

The rain is hitting some of the driest areas in the province.

Doug Gillespie is President of the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association.

"The rain sure makes everyone smile, if nothing else. It reduced the fire hazard and the moisture just kind of perks everybody up, and for the grain farmers this will help fill the crops I think, so it's just very good all around."

The forecast is calling for rainfall totals of 50 to 80 mm by Tuesday evening with locally higher amounts in thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the Agriculture industry is smiling with the recent rainfall.

What had been some of the dryer areas of the Province that had been looking for rain are finally getting some moisture.
