RBC donates makes donation to 4-H’s Careers to Grow

Youth have the power and potential to change the world, and there is no sector where this is more important than agriculture.

Nurturing and developing the passion for growing and feeding our communities will not only shape the health of our population, but the environmental impact as well. Standing behind the belief in today’s youth, RBC, today, announced a $50,000 donation to Careers on the Grow to support 4-H youth in agriculture.

The sponsorship will create opportunities for young people to gain first-hand work experience, develop and practice relevant skills, and build self-esteem, critical thinking and leadership skills. In addition, the funds will help Careers on the Grow address the skills and labour gap in the agriculture industry.

As a proponent of 4-H and past participant herself, Gwen Paddock, National Director, Agriculture and Agribusiness at RBC sees the Careers to Grow program as a vital setp to unlocking the potential of young people in Canada by addressing three critical gaps: experience, skills and networking.

Would you be interested in speaking with Ms. Paddock, or Lorna McKercher, Vice President Agriculture at RBC in Southwestern Ontario about RBC’s commitment to youth farming and how programs like 4-H have propelled them into successful careers in the agriculture industry? We’d also be happy to facilitate an interview with someone from 4-H about the Careers to Grow program.
