Saskatchewan cattle farmers recovering from wildfire thanks to a little help from their friends

The Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association has distributed close to a quarter of a million dollars to cattlemen affected by wildfires last fall.

Stock Growers president Shane Jahnke says the wildfire relief fund raised over $246.000, including $100,000 from the provincial government.

“100% of the funds went to the producers in need,” said Jahnke. “As well, we’ve received probably over $200,000 of in kind donations, such as trucking feeds, fencing materials and labours. That is starting to go out as well.”
